Trust in God

Word of the Spirit

Jesus warns us that we have no need to worry about the problems in our lives or our situations if we trust in Him.

"Therefore I tell you, stop being worried or anxious (perpetually uneasy, distracted) about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, as to what you will wear. Is life not more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow [seed] nor reap [the harvest] nor gather [the crops] into barns, and yet your heavenly Father keeps feeding them. Are you not worth much more than they? And who of you by worrying can add one hour to [the length of] his life? And why are you worried about clothes? See how the lilies and wildflowers of the field grow; they do not labor nor do they spin [wool to make clothing], yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory and splendor dressed himself like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive and green today and tomorrow is [cut and] thrown [as fuel] into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you? You of little faith! Therefore do not worry or be anxious (perpetually uneasy, distracted), saying, ‘What are we going  to eat?’ or ‘What are we going to drink?’ or ‘What are we going to wear?"

- Matthew 6:25-31 Amplified Bible (AMP)

If we belong to God by faith and walk accordingly in the Spirit, then we should already understand that not only is God capable of fully meeting all of our needs in excess, but it is His will and desire to provide everything we need and want to us. In fact, Jesus said He has come so we may have life and life more abundantly. God wants to grant us all the desires and petitions of our hearts (that align to His Spirit). The bible declares that everything that we need both now and eternally comes through His spiritual kingdom and that it is the Father's good pleasure to give us His kingdom. Jesus tells us to seek first His kingdom and and His righteousness (the Holy Spirit) and then everything we need will be added to us.

Worry, stress, fear or doubt actually points to a lack of faith. Faith includes a trust in God - that He is who He says He is and that He will do what He says He will do. If we believe in Him then we have no need to worry, stress or doubt because we know our God is in control and that He is always looking out for us.

When we worry, stress or doubt, then our focus remains on earthly things, instead of spiritual and heavenly things. We become entangled in Satan's spiritual kingdom of darkness, instead of operating from and being rooted and established in God's spiritual kingdom of Light. Worry, stress and doubt are weapons of the enemy that the enemy tries to use against us to keep us from receiving the fullness of God's kingdom within us and from experiencing the peace that God offers us. When we trust in God, the weapons of the enemy will not prosper against us.

Led by the Spirit

We have no need to worry, stress or doubt over the circumstances and situations in our lives, if we trust in God. We should already know that God is who He says He is and that He will do what He says He will do, therefore since He says He is for us, we know we have nothing to fear in this life, when we walk in faith.
